Dr Dennis Gross
Yep, I'd never heard of it either.
I'm sure there's a few beauty buffs out there rolling their eyes at me, but hey, up until a few years ago my skincare routine consisted almost entirely of Simple face wipes.
I'd say we've made some progress here.
So, Dr Gross... Who is he?
Short version: A skin care specialist.
Long version: You can find all the info. here. I won't bog you down with all the details.
I was introduced to the brand through an American friend of mine who gave me a whole sack of Dennis Gross goodies to try out. She swears by the peels, and judging by the fact that her skin is flawless, I was excited to get on board.
Here's a little look at what I have to play with. (All descriptions taken from the Dr Dennis Gross website:)
- Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion - "An oil-free gel-cream moisturizer that provides time-released hydration as it helps firm and smooth skin for a younger-looking complexion." I've used this intermittently for the last few months. It's pleasant but nothing groundbreaking. I like that it isn't greasy and it's light enough to be used in the morning/under make up but it's not something I'd run out and splash cash on.
- Original Alpha Beta Peels - "Dr. Dennis Gross’ iconic original formula, a daily peel formulated to treat the three most common signs of aging: uneven tone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles, and enlarged pores, with five acids – without causing irritation." Okay, hands up, I haven't used these daily. I feel like it's too much for me, personally. What I will say though is that I think these are a really great introduction to chemical peels, especially for those that haven't used such products before. The two-step process is really simple and I do feel like my skin looks and feels better after use.
- Not pictured. Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel - "This weekly peel containing 15 acids immediately boosts radiance and jumpstarts your skin’s renewal process to accelerate improvement of the three most common signs of aging: uneven skin tone & texture, fine lines & wrinkles and enlarged pores, using 15 acids." In addition to the original peels, I was given five sachets of the Medi-Spa Peels to try. 100%, these are the best peels I've tried. Yes, the Peptide Milk which you apply after the first step, is greasy on the skin. It's not one you'd do if you have anywhere to be but as an evening skin treatment, I'm a big fan. My skin beamed afterwards and looked really healthy.
- Clinical Concentrate Boosters - "A trio of professional strength concentrates designed to precisely hone in on your daily skin needs, for a radiant, hydrated, and purified complexion." I'm going to hold out on giving you my thoughts on these just yet as I have only recently started using them. The Radiance booster is the one I've been reaching for most often and so far I've really been enjoying it but that's all I'll say. Watch this space for a full review soon.
The last two products I have don't appear on the Dr Dennis Gross website and I think they've been discontinued, but don't quote me on it.
- Age Erase Moisture - A nutrient-rich face moisturiser that can be used in the morning or the evening. It's fragrance-free, relatively light-weight and gives good hydration. A nice product but again, nothing groundbreaking.
- Age Erase Moisture For Eyes - Similar to the face moisturiser but for the eyes. I've only just started using this and it's not bad. I feel as though I've never had a, 'wow' moment with an eye cream but this is easy enough to use, sinks into the skin and isn't too thick. I'll continue to use this until it's finished.
PHEW.
And that's your lot.
One thing I will say about the Dr Dennis Skincare range is that some of the products are quite pricey. I don't mind paying more for a really effective product but I'd definitely do my research first and try to get hold of a sample before purchasing, if possible.
Have you tried any of the Dr Dennis Gross skincare range? If so, are there any products that you'd recommend?
