When You Just Feel Rubbish
A few things. Firstly, our oven is on the blink so we're resorted to crisp sandwiches and takeaways for feeding purposes which isn't all bad, but has sent my diet skyrocketing out of the window. In all honesty, the diet, so to speak, has been pretty much whatever I can fit in my mouth between gulps of wine and shame, but whatevs.
Secondly, I've been wallowing a lot lately. In self-pity, in questionable outfit choices and in the fact that I have no acceptable response when someone asks where I see myself in five year's time - apparently, 'owning every NARS blusher' isn't a valid answer. There's also an element of disgust. Disgust at the fact that chocolate has become my daily staple and I've been unable to string two blog sentences together without sounding somewhat 'unhinged'.
I know, I know... Just bear with me.
I was going to write a whole, woe is me post about blogging. As a matter of fact, I did write said post but then decided that:
A) Most people don't give a crap that only thirty people read my last post, and
B) Posting it will likely just indulge this bitch of an attitude I've got going on right now,
So, I decided I would leave it to gather dust in my draft box and delight you with this brain fart post instead.
I'm also drinking wine, in the bath, half encased in a mound of bubbles and with a volcanic eruption the size of my misery, poking its way through my forehead epidermis. You know, just for visual's sake.
Anyway, let's cut to something a little less TMI and a little more lipstick. I've embarked on a love affair with a new red - see poser shot above. The other week, I finally got around to trying the Cream Lip Stains from Sephora - I went for the ever popular shade, 13 which is a mauvey-nude, Instgram lip colour and 03 which is a beautiful pink red. So beautiful in fact that I've been wearing it constantly, which I almost never do with reds.
*Runs back to Sephora to buy all. the. shades.*
What struck me with these lipsticks is the incredible staying-power. They're not so dry that your lips recoil at the mere sight and the colour-payoff is fantastic. They're pigmented and have a mousse-like formula which reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I highly recommend.
In case you missed it, I picked up the same two liquid lipsticks for a giveaway which is currently live on my Instagram so you can head over to LifeinExcess_ to enter and be in with a chance of claiming these two 'sticks for yourself. The giveaway is international and will finish on the 09/08/2016. Good Luck.
As for me, I'm signing myself up to an Arabic language course as we speak - did someone say quarter-life crisis?
