Dose Of Colors

Recently, I have developed somewhat of a thing for liquid lipsticks. 
Easier to apply, long-lasting and practically budge-proof! I didn't need to be asked twice to hop aboard this trend.
A few weeks ago, and after extensive swatch research, I decided to order three Dose of Colors liquid lipsticks from the US. With Beauty Bay starting to stock them in the UK, I was ready to see what all the fuss was about.
I opted for Sand, Bare With Me and Merlot. 

Firstly, the packaging... They are heavy, read 'feel expensive' and I'm all about that frosted tube meets shiny lid. In a nutshell, I like it. 
These apply like a typical liquid lipstick, initially creamy and then drying down to a more matte finish. As far as matte lipsticks go, they aren't overly uncomfortable to wear and don't feel too dry on the lips.
The longevity is incredible. I wore Merlot on Christmas Eve, from morning, right through until I washed it off to go to sleep. Not one single touch up. I had so many comments on how perfect it wore, right through the day.

Shade wise, Sand - I'm a little on the fence about. It throws me back to 90s concealer lips and I realistically need to pair it with another lip colour to make it work for me. 
Bare With Me is a much more wearable nude. It has pink undertones and, to me, is much more flattering.
Merlot... 
Where do we begin with Merlot?
It's incredible. That's all you need to know. 
Okay, yes, it stains like a bitch. Get this on your hands/face and you'll be scrubbing it off for hours. I leaves a tint on your lips, even after cleansing but it's not unsightly. I'm willing to overlook these issues because what you get is a stunning, cherry red lip that does not budge - all day!
I think Merlot is perhaps a misleading name as it conjours up thoughts of a deep, wine/berry red but all things aside, if you're looking for the perfect red liquid lipstick, this might well be it!
