Abu Dhabi Eats - BU! Trinity
The other week, Scott and I were invited to the BU! Trinity official opening night party to check out the latest addition to the World Trade Centre Mall's Hub dining sector. Never one to turn down a party, (you know me) we put on our fancy pants and headed into the city to see what all the buzz was about.
Firstly, I have to point out that this place is huge! The indoor seating area is certainly roomy and there are plenty of guest tables to choose from, with bar stools and comfy couches a plenty. There's also a spacious outdoor terrace which, coupled with the hanging flowers over the bar and hedge-like walls, transports you from inner-city mall to secret garden, quicker than you can whisper cocktail. The look is cohesive, modern yet relaxed. Chic, yet not stuffy.
BU! takes its inspiration from Latin America with its pan Latin cuisine and lively atmosphere. There's a wide-ranging, exuberant menu with a variety of interesting dishes to choose from. The Sea Bass Ceviche was exceptional, flavoured with a tangy citrus and herb dressing and possibly my favorite dish of the evening - this coming from a girl who has a shaky relationship with seafood.
The menu carries several 'craving' dishes, small bites to tempt you, as well as a dedicated raw bar and traditional street food dishes.
From the grill, you can treat yourself to flavour-packed garlicky Tiger Prawns on a bed of tomato bread. The Striploin Beef was another favourite of mine and the truffle asparagus that came served with it was the perfect accompaniment. Pretty much anything smothered in truffle oil is a win win for me.
Food aside, the real draw of this place for me is the venue itself and with plenty of offers from Ladies Night on a Monday evening, through to Late Brunch on a Saturday, BU! really does have something to offer everyone.
