If I Could Only Pick One

I first saw the, 'If I could only pick one' post on Molly's blog (MollyLouise) and after a few minutes of appreciation at the products she chose, I shuddered at the mere thought of having to chose only one, measly product from each beauty 'section' to live with for the rest of eternity.

You could say I have commitment issues.

After briefly considering whether or not it was fair on the entirety of my make up stash to start picking faves, I thought, to hell and decided to give it a go.

Note: I didn't take this lightly and probably gave it more consideration than I did when deciding which university to apply to. #For Reals

Foundation - Okay, I admit, this was the toughest. I went for the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Stick because it's foolproof. It always wears really well on me, has good coverage and has a finish that sits just on the right side of sweaty-looking. I'm a dry girl, what can I say?  I almost swapped this out for the Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation, which I'm currently out of, but definitely sits pretty as one of the best, everyday, lighter converage foundation I've used.

Concealer - My pick for this category is hands down the Urban Decay Naked Weightless Concealer, but I'm currently out of that too. Damn, I need to go shopping! I plan on stocking up whilst I'm home in the UK as I love this concealer. It's lightweight but still has really good coverage. Ta-ra dark circles. I included the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer in this post because it's a great dupe for the Urban Decay concealer - albeit with slightly less coverage.

Powder - I didn't even need to think about this one. The Make Up For Ever HD Translucent Pressed Powder is The One. I don't need anything more from a setting powder. It's very lightweight, finely-milled and blends seamlessly into the skin. It doesn't cake up, cling to dry patches or make me look gritty. If you've not tried this one, I highly recommend it. They also have a loose powder version too.

Bronzer - Okay, hands up, I cheated slightly with this one and picked a cream and a powder bronzer - I mean, they're pretty much two separate categories anyway, right? The Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base only made its way into my make up bag recently but it's well and truly stolen the show. It's a beautiful warm bronzer shade that applies so smoothly, it practically melts into the skin. It's the most natural bronzing product I've used and, despite being pricey, I'd say it's worth every penny. For a bronzing/contour powder, I've included the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Powder in the shade Fawn. It's a very well-balanced shade in that it's not too warm nor too cool. It suits my skin tone perfectly and is a staple in my make up routine.

Blusher - It's no secret, I love blusher, and this was a tough decision but I had to go with MAC New Romance. This is a blush I reach for regularly and I know it will always flatter any make up look. It has just the right amount of shimmer to it and gives a subtle, pink glow to the cheeks.

Highlighter - My highlighter of choice is BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. I had so many that I wanted to include in this category but it was Opal that stood out as my all-round favourite. The formula of the BECCA highlighters is just something else. They are so smooth and hella' pigmented.

Eye Shadow - My Custom Favourites Eye Shadow Palette is the palette that I can't live without but if I had to pick only one shade, which is pretty cruel may I add, it would have to be Inglot AMC Shine shade 402. It's the prefect neutral brown shade with a shimmer finish. If I can't be bothered doing much with my face, a wash of this over the lids is perfect.

Mascara - Of all the mascaras I've tried, the one that I find myself continually coming back to is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. It's inexpensive, wears well and gives me decent thickness and length. Aherm. I do feel there are perhaps better out there though so if you have any mascara holy grails, do let me know.

Finally...

Lip Product - My most reached for lip product is hands down, Too Faced's La Creme Color Drenched Lipstick in Nude Beach. It's the perfect, everyday nude lipstick with a moisturising, creamy finish. It's not super long lasting but it's easy to reapply without a mirror and if I ever have difficulty pairing a lipstick with the rest of my make up, this is what I reach for.

Let me know what products you would choose if you could only pick one. Have you tried any of the products mentioned here? Let me know your thoughts. Plus, if you decide to take on this challenge for your own blog, please let me know so I can have a nosey at what you picked!
