So, there's a back story to this dress.
And no, it has nothing to do with me prancing around like an idiot.
I spotted it in Zara several weeks ago and although my initial thoughts were that it was far too sack-like to ever shuffle towards being flattering, I tried it on anyway and fell in love.
Okay, love is probably too strong a sentiment but it's one of those 'dresses' that you can shove on with very little effort and yet it manages to look like you've actually given some thought as to what you've put on.
And it's blue, which is a colour that slowly seems to be taking over my wardrobe.
And I put dresses in inverted commas because yes, it looks like a dress but there's actually a little playsuit number underneath which I'm guessing is to prevent you from flashing your knicks should a hearty gust take a hold, although the material is thick and heavier than your typical Marilyn moment dress culprits.
Anyway...
Being the lemon that I am, I accidentally bought the wrong size and by the time I managed to return it and walk away with the correct size, Ramadan was upon us, and so it fell out of my 'appropriate day time' wardrobe. Which leads me to this point, whereby I've officially declared it dress up day in my apartment.
I couldn't resist the temptation of it sitting there any longer, plus Daisy thought that sitting underneath my skirt was heaps of fun.
Thoughts?
Available here in blue and here in white.
