Nouveau Lashes SVS Lash Treatment Review - Before & After

It's no secret, I love a Nouveau Lash treatment. I've waxed lyrical about my love for the incredible, 'LVL Lash Treatment' which you can read a similar Before & After style review of here. So when I was invited to Doll House Dubai to try Nouveau Lashes' latest, revolutionary lash treatment, SVS Lashes, I was absolutely thrilled!

Nouveau Lashes SVS Lash Treatment Review - Before & After

What are SVS Lashes?

SVS stands for Speed, Volume and Style and is Nouveau Lashes' latest, customisable eyelash extension treatment. It's designed to give you thicker, fuller lashes in less time than their traditional lash extension treatments.

What does the treatment entail?

Before the treatment starts, your lash technician will sit with you and discuss what style of lash extensions you wish to go for. There's lots of different 'looks' to choose from, from full 'cat-eye' glam to a more natural, softer finish. With the advice from my technician, I decided to go for an 'open eye look' which consists of applying the longest lashes in the centre portion of my eye and tapering outwards to the inner and outer corners, with the smallest lashes being right on the inner and outer sections. This technique is designed to really lift and open up the eyes, making them appear larger.

The lash extensions come in a variety of different lengths and curls and your technician will be able to decide which ones to use depending on the look you want. (For reference, we chose D curl lashes with the lengths tapering from a 12 in the centre portion of my eye, through to an 8 on the inner and outer corners.)

Once we had decided upon the style of lashes that would suit me best, it was time to lie back on the bed and close my eyes ready for the treatment.

Note: It's best to arrive without any eye makeup on so that your technician can get started right away and doesn't have to waste time removing any stubborn mascara.

My lower lashes were covered and pinned down out of the way - this isn't painful or uncomfortable, it just feels a little strange at first. The technician then set about applying the extensions to each of my individual, natural lashes using a specially designed glue. What's different about the SVS lash extensions is that each 'lash' is a superfine, lightweight cluster of three varying length lashes - so rather than the traditional method of applying a single lash extension to each natural lash, the SVS style lashes add more volume per lash, giving a much fluffier and more natural-looking finish.

I had to keep my eyes closed throughout the treatment, which took about 2 hours to complete. I have a lot of lashes and wanted a really fluffy effect so it took quite a bit of time to get the exact look that I wanted; however SVS treatments can take as little as 45 minutes, depending on each individuals lashes and needs.

Once the lashes are done, you're good to go. You'll need to avoid getting them wet for the first 24 hours but then after that you can shower and clean your face as normal, although you should stick to an oil-free eye makeup remover because this can break down the lash glue and damage the extensions.

Before & After

As you can see, the difference between my natural lashes and the finished look is absolutely astounding. These photos were taken right before and right after my SVS Lash treatment so you can really see the impact that the extensions have.

SVS Lashes are designed to last 3-4 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and how well you take care of your new lashes. As each natural lash sheds, you'll lose that extension; however due to the nature of the SVS extensions and their fluffier, cluster style, lost lashes don't leave huge unsightly gaps. In fact, I'm almost 3 weeks in and whilst I have lost quite a few of my extensions, I still really love the effect that they give.

If you want to maintain your lash extensions, you'll need to get them filled in every 2-3 weeks, replacing the lost extensions by applying fresh extensions to each new natural lash.

So final thoughts...

I absolutely LOVED my experience with SVS Lashes. They made getting ready so much easier because with the extensions, I didn't feel like I needed to do an awful lot with my makeup. There's no need to apply mascara and I often forewent eye shadow and eye liner because my lashes gave me all the glam I really wanted and needed. My only criticism is that when I did wear heavy eye makeup, it was a little harder to remove than normal because you have to be careful not to scrub your eyes. As I didn't wear heavy makeup often, this wasn't a huge problem for me but it did mean that there were moments when I felt like I couldn't really get in and clean my lashes as much as I would have been able to do previously. That aside, it absolutely would not stop me from getting SVS Lashes again. They make such a huge difference to my appearance and I love the freedom of not having to worry about applying mascara or strip lashes when I want to look glam.
