So, I was being all, hey, I'm going to put in a bit of effort today and actually shave my legs, which let me just point out, is the most arduous task known to womankind but ya know, needs must...
Anyway.
Are we really half-way through the year? I mean, I should probably start Christmas shopping, right?
This month, I've been stuck in somewhat of a make up rut. If you read my Summer / Everyday Makeup Post, you'll have seen what I've been slapping on my face pretty much consistently throughout July.
There's been a few added extras though;
Ahhh, Kiehl's... Where do we even begin?
I don't know about you, but there's just something about the simple, apothecary-style packaging and the fact that there's a skeleton man in pretty much every Kiehl's store I've ever been in. I mean, it's the little touches, right?
In all seriousness, I find that I'm rarely disappointed with Kiehl's skin care products.
A few things. Firstly, our oven is on the blink so we're resorted to crisp sandwiches and takeaways for feeding purposes which isn't all bad, but has sent my diet skyrocketing out of the window. In all honesty, the diet, so to speak, has been pretty much whatever I can fit in my mouth between gulps of wine and shame, but whatevs.
Secondly, I've been wallowing a lot lately. In self-pity, in questionable outfit choices and in the fact that I have no acceptable response when someone asks where I see myself in five year's time - apparently, 'owning every NARS blusher' isn't a valid answer. There's also an element of disgust. Disgust at the fact that chocolate has become my daily staple and I've been unable to string two blog sentences together without sounding somewhat 'unhinged'.
I know, I know... Just bear with me.
That right there is what four hours sleep looks like.
Let's cut to the backstory.
Recently Daisy had that op. The one where a heartless soul (me) robs her of ever becoming a mother, although, in my defense, I have gifted her a life without periods and if anything, that's a pretty decent consolation.
She'll thank me one day.

I know, I know... 'Summer ready' make up is pretty much my every day, hence the title. In reality, if I'm not leaving the house to go anywhere interesting, I tend to stick with a little moisturiser and, if I'm really pushing the boat out, I'll fill in my brows and slap on a bit of mascara.
Hands up for beauty blogger of the year...
Anyway, if effort is required, these are the products I've been reaching for to give me that Summer ready face:

Yes. Yes, I am. Call it what you will, the obsession is real. Plus, there's an Inglot store on every corner in Abu Dhabi so - justified!
Anway, my love for Inglot eye shadow pans is well documented. I raved about them in my recent, 'What's in my Z Palette?' post, (plus a million other posts that you can check out here.) I'd never tried any of their pigments, however, and with a brief dabble at the counter, I was immediately sold on this coppery beauty.
Feast thy eyes...
I'm currently cross-legged on my sofa with this tea tree mask slathered all over my face, wondering what the hell I did to deserve my skin breaking out in full on scales. You know how babies, fresh out the womb, get pimples and such - I wan't to call them milk spots but correct me if I'm wrong, that's kinda what I've got going on, but it's considerably less 'awww' when it's gracing the face of a twenty-something adult.
As delightful as that visual is, does anyone else feel my pain here? I swear to god, about two weeks ago I was having a vain skin moment and giving myself an inner high five at how not shit my skin was looking. Roll on two weeks and I'm borderline fungal-looking.
I blame wine and the copious amounts I drank over the Eid holidays... and maybe cheese. I've started eating cheese again. *Sigh* I'm trying to think of one thing I've not failed at recently.
And that one thing would be buying shoes.
Bath bombs and bubble bars aside, if anyone ever asks me what they need from LUSH, I always point them in the direction of the Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub.
I remember picking up my first tub around four years ago, in a teeny tiny LUSH store in Qatar and I've been hooked ever since - This is around my fourth or fifth tub. You could say we're committed.
Fragrance reviews are notoriously difficult and until someone develops 'smellivision' you're just going to have to make do with my ramblings that will heavily rely on the words, 'nice' and 'beautiful.'
But that's just what this fragrance is... Absolutely beautiful.
It was whilst killing some time in a Jo Malone store that I came across Nashi Blossom. It's their limited edition Spring/Summer scent and after first spritz, I was immediately in love.

I recently joined Quora, which is one of those question/answer sites. Yahoo have one similar. You know the kind, people ask provoking questions such as, 'Is my make up racist?' Yes, for actuals, and then aspiring agony aunts like me attempt to answer them.
To shed some light, I'm trundling through a particularly rough bout of insomnia and imparting my wisdom to unsuspecting folk on the internet seems like a better use of my time than pinning inspirational quotes about cheese on Pinterest. And well, people ask me weird questions and it provides me with a few laughs here and there.
So the other day, I had a quick scroll through Quora and happened upon the following question:
'What beauty or fashion trends do men find unattractive?'
Sensing a blog post opportunity, I decided to quiz the hubby to find out what was topping his fashion and beauty - oh hell no list!
A few things. Firstly, happy 4th of July to all of my American readers across the pond. Secondly, I'd be kidding myself if I acted like this was my one and only Z Palette, *whispers* I have four but this is a peek at what lives inside my favourites palette. My go-to and must-have shades that pretty much come with me wherever I go.

Happy July... and I say happy because it's Summer now, right? And that means ice cream and other wonderful things like stepping outside and becoming instantly drenched in a mixture of humidity and perspiration.
